6325 Educational Communication "Second Life Collaborative Project"

Project Description:

The purpose of this project was to research a virtual world called Second Life (SL) and write a research report and a presentation. The main objective was to investigate it's potential for instructional and/or training applications. As a group we would meet, plan, and prepare our strategies for completing our project in a timely manner.

6321 Instructional Design

Project Description:The purpose of this project was to create an Instructional Design Unit by following the Dick and Carey Model task analysis.  The first step was to determine the target audience or the learners.  The second step was to write description of where learning will take place, what resources are potentially available, and what potential limitations are as well as derive a goal for the learners. The third step was to develop performance objectives (POs) for each identified task.  The fourth step included; (1) Develop an instructional strategy for getting the intended audience to master the performance objectives you have created; (2) Select media that is appropriate for implementing the strategies and activities you have selected in step #1; and (3) Create a rough draft, or first draft, of your materials. The final step was to engage the Subject Matter Experts (SME) with a formative evaluation of the instructional material.  This step has three parts.  Part 1: Based on their feedback I made revisions as necessary.  Part 2: I met with a try out learner and gathered valuable information and made revisions accordingly.  Part 3: I used three members of the target audience with the new revisions, once they provided feedback I modified as necessary.

6320 Instructional Technology "Collaborative Project Team"

Project Description:The purpose of this project to develop a introductory training module for the 6341 Student Centered Learning class.  The team consisted of four people and each of us was assigned different roles.  The entire project was recorded on two different Wiki.  The overall objective of designing a training module based on a scavenger hunt worked well so that the learner could gain valuable knowledge of useable resources. Once we determined the intended audience we were able to begin the planning phase.  As a group we decided to use different Web 2.0 Tools such as Blackboard, Wimba, Wiki, Ning, Power Point, and document storage options such as flip drive.  Once we determined the problems to be addressed, we had to prove how it was relevance to education by addressing the importance of on-line learning.

6323 Multimedia/Hypermedia "Optimizing Digital Images"

Project Description:

The target audience for the e-learning instruction consists of users who use digital images for online use, who work with 8-12 or college level students who must prepare online e-portfolios. As a developer, there should be no difficulty in designing and developing this learning object. The learner must understand what optimization is and why we must use it with digital images for online use.
